A Community Destination, Revitalized

Just northeast of Dallas, Wet Zone Waterpark has been a summer tradition in Rowlett, Texas, since 2001. Owned and operated by the City of Rowlett, the community waterpark features waterslides, a lazy river, a 25-yard lap pool, and family play areas that draw guests from across the region. As part of a park-wide revitalization, the city partnered with Waterplay Solutions to replace an aging play area with a brand-new splash pad, one designed to bring fresh energy, inclusive play, and a bold visual identity to this well-loved community destination for users of all ages and abilities.

A Custom Design Rooted in Civic Pride

The Waterplay Design Team anchored the 3,000-square-foot splash pad with a defined red, white, and blue palette that carries the city's brand identity across the entire space. Life Floor surfacing in Pomegranate, Submariner, and Porcelain brings that palette underfoot, with sweeping custom-cut curves that flow between the play features and give the splash pad unmistakable, patriotic character. Paired with custom City of Rowlett graphics integrated into the spray features, the design celebrates civic pride at every turn.

Safety and Comfort Built for the Long Run

Life Floor's Ripple texture supports slip resistance in wet conditions, while the 3/8" cushioned tiles add comfort underfoot for guests of all ages and abilities. For a municipal facility like Wet Zone, the modular tile system also delivers long-term operational value: individual tiles can be replaced as needed without disrupting the surrounding surface, keeping the splash pad guest-ready season after season.

A Partnership That Made a Splash

Installed by Landmark Aquatic, a Life Floor Certified Installer and Registered Aquatic Partner, the surfacing unifies Waterplay's mix of high-energy and low-sensory play features, from the towering Toro and Spiral Tunnel to gentler elements designed for younger guests, into one cohesive, safe play environment. Since officially opening in June 2025, the splash pad has quickly become a crowd favorite, and Life Floor named Wet Zone Waterpark the "Most Patriotic" project in our Top Projects of 2025.
