Parr Park

Project Type: Splash Pad

Location: Grapevine, TX

When arranged with enough variety of color, hexagons can create a really interesting effect across a surface. For this reason, we think this shape has the potential to really enhance municipal splash pads without adding additional cost for custom-cut designs.
— Kelsi Goss, VP Design Life Floor

With concrete slabs on splash pads heating up to dangerous temperatures in summer climates like Texas, the City of Grapevine resorted to Cool Deck, a concrete coating. The coating, however, ultimately exacerbated the amount of slip and fall injuries on the splash pad. The city approached Life Floor having experienced the tile’s ability to stay cool underfoot, and remain slip-resistant when wet at the Pleasant Glade pool. The city especially wanted a completely new and unique design to stand out from other splash pads in the community. It was the perfect timing. The Life Floor Studio had just finalized our newest Hexagon shape. Using a mottled effect across the splash pad, Life Floor was installed in a bright, modern color palette to create a truly extraordinary experience for Parr Park visitors.
