This 16,146 sq ft aquatic play area named Splash Island is a themed environment for families to relax and have fun at Lopesan’s Costa Bávaro Resort which spans 27 acres in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Life Floor partnered with WhiteWater West, Martin Aquatic Design & Engineering, and Inside Edge to make this exciting amenity become a reality. Families can enjoy a Caribbean theme complete with palm trees, marine life, surf elements, and bright colors. With a cohesive design of Life Floor’s High Tide colors, Splash Island features two distinct zones for two different stages of play during a child’s development. First, the adjacent splash pad features smaller sprays and features that appeal to families with young children in their early development stage. Second, the main zone features an elevated play structure with jets and a tall dumping bucket to stimulate the adventure stage in older children.
Both of these zones are important, and the space was creatively designed to include natural land barriers with live plants that act as a transition between the zones. With Life Floor’s cushioned and impact absorbing qualities, guests of all ages can play without fear of injuries and enjoy their Caribbean vacation together.
