Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City opened in June 2025 with 228 guest rooms, an indoor pool with a NinjaCross course, and an outdoor pool deck made for long afternoons in the sun. At the shallow end of that outdoor pool, a zero-depth entry gives kids and less confident swimmers an easy way into the water. Life Floor surfaced it in three shades of blue, then added a few details any Parrothead would recognize.
Small Footprint, Big Personality
At 291 square feet, the zero-depth entry is one of the property's smaller spaces, but the design team gave it plenty of attention. Life Floor's designers laid out an all-square pattern in Aqua, Seafoam, and Turquoise, drawn from our Surf and Lagoon themes. As guests wade in, the floor fades right into the color of the pool.
Inlays and Murals That Tell the Margaritaville Story
The first concept used tropical Inlays from our standard library. The project's design firm wanted icons tied more closely to the Margaritaville brand: palm trees, hibiscus flowers, a compass rose, and the beach chair everyone pictures at the end of a long day. A few of those shapes had more detail than a standard Inlay can hold, so our team made them into single-tile Murals. The finished entry includes: three palm tree Inlays, three compass rose Murals, three hibiscus flower Murals, and four beach chair Murals.
Safety Where Guests Step In
A zero-depth entry sees toddlers, grandparents, and everyone in between, and the floor is always wet. Life Floor's cushioned, slip-resistant surface gives guests of all ages and abilities sure footing as they walk into the pool and a softer landing if someone does slip. Every tile is NSF/ANSI/CAN 50 certified and made in the USA.
