The Life Floor Inlay library has been one of the easiest, most affordable ways to theme a splash pad or pool deck for years. 13 themed categories and 130 individual designs have provided a diversity of options: desert scenes with saguaro cacti and coyotes, outer space with planets and rockets, marine and sea life with crabs and octopuses, and garden inlays with ladybugs and daisies. Other motifs include forest, pond, tropical, treasure hunt, sports, geometric, outdoor exploration, and Australia and New Zealand sets. Every shape works in square or hexagon tiles, in any Life Floor color, and most customers and partners have found exactly what they needed somewhere in that list. Still, there's always room to grow. We're excited to expand our offerings by adding three new inlay sets this year: Safari, Hopscotch, and Beach.
Safari inlays bring African wildlife to splash pad and pool deck designs
Splash pad amenities at zoos are having a moment. Our installation at Living Desert Zoo is one example, and it pushed us to build out a set of animals found across Africa. Lions, hippos, and rhinos, made for sprawling savanna scenes. Add them to a safari-themed design or use them to enhance splash pads at zoos and aquatic attractions around the world. Animals are always a popular pick!

Hopscotch inlays turn pool decks into an active play feature
Life Floor has always brought activities onto the surface itself. Amount these have been Candyland-style game boards, hopping paths, search-and-find puzzles, treasure hunts, and checkerboards. Hopscotch numbers now join that lineup as a standard Inlay set, so working the game into a splash pad design has become even easier. Our customers and their guests love the extra level of engagement games like this have brought to aquatic surfaces.

Beach inlays round out the sandscape theme
We already offer plenty of underwater Inlays, but customers kept asking about the sand. So we built a set for it: sunglasses, beach balls, sandcastles, and more. Pair those with the crabs and seashells already in the library, and the sandy zones of a design get a lot more to do. These warm-weather icons are going to make beach-themed designs even more fun and engaging.

Kelsi Goss is the Vice President of Design at Life Floor and oversees the creative studio, marketing, and product development activities across the company. With over 15 years of design experience and a degree in Architecture from Princeton University, she’s transformed the landscape of the aquatic industry with Life Floor’s brightly colored safety surfaces.
In her role, she has designed hundreds of iconic floors for aquatic facilities worldwide. Her favorite projects have featured bold geometric patterns and immersive themes to optimize play value and visual impact. Based in Los Angeles, Kelsi also serves as a Board Member of TEA’s Western North America division.
